Michael Burger's practice is focused primarily on civil litigation with particular emphasis on commercial, business and creditor's rights litigation. During his six years of practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Michael litigated matters in the Pennsylvania state, federal, bankruptcy and appellate courts on issues including complex commercial disputes, defense of banks and lending institutions for lender liability and federal truth-in-lending claims and contract disputes. Michael was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania in 2003 and admitted to practice in North Carolina in 2010. Additionally, Michael is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania.
As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland at College Park, Michael was a College Park Scholar and was also selected as a member of Omnicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society, the Kalegethos Honor Society, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and the Maryland Medallion Society. In law school, Michael concentrated his studies and efforts in civil litigation. Michael was named the 2001-2002 University of Pittsburgh School of Law "Best Oral Advocate" for the school's Appellate Moot Court Competition. He was a memeber of the law school's National Moot Court team, received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Advocacy and was selected as a memeber of the National Order of Barristers. In 2003, in addition to the degree of Juris Doctor, Michael graduated with certification from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law's John P. Gismondi Civil Litigation Certificate Program.
