Partners, Joan Davis and John Hutson , along with associate, Russell Johnson , represented the family of Raleigh police officer, Charles R. Paul III, in a wrongful death lawsuit based on products liability claims related to the motorcycle accident which killed officer Paul. The case was settled to the satisfaction of the parties without a trial.

Partners, Joan Davis and John Hutson , along with associate Russell Johnson also represented the family of a young woman, who was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver . In pursuing the wrongful death claim, our investigation revealed that the drinking establishment that had supplied the driver with alcoholic beverages was potentially liable for the accident under North Carolina’s dram shop laws . The case was settled with the at-fault driver and the nightclub to the family’s satisfaction during the course of the litigation.

Joan Davis represented the family of a young person in wrongful death claims against the two drivers who were responsible for the automobile accident that took his life. The teenager and three others were killed in tragic car accident on I-540. It was ultimately proven that the car wreck resulted from illegal racing on that part of two of the motor vehicles involved. The litigation was settled to the family’s satisfaction.
