Matthew Langston is an associate in the firm’s Raleigh office and a proud native of Eastern North Carolina. He practices civil litigation, including eminent domain, personal injury, and insurance law. Matthew graduated with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his law degree from Wake Forest University.
During law school, Matthew gained invaluable experience working with clients in the Veterans Legal Clinic, advocating for discharge status upgrades and VA disability claims. As the Symposium Editor for the Journal of Law & Policy, Matthew organized a symposium on current issues affecting veterans and the military that was sponsored by the State Bar’s Legal Assistance for Military Personnel Committee and attended by attorneys from across the state. In addition to receiving the Suzanne Reynolds Changemaker Award for the symposium, Matthew’s academic achievements include Reynolds Awards in Appellate Advocacy and Agency and accolades in the Transactional Law Competition, where he was part of the Best 1L Team and Best Overall Team. Prior to joining Howard Stallings, Matthew interned with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and a congressman in Washington, D.C., further honing his legal skills and dedication to public service.
