Emily focuses her practice in the area of civil litigation. She was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2014 and North Carolina in 2020.

Experience

Prior to joining Howard Stallings, Emily worked at a firm in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois where she represented individual and business clients in civil and commercial litigation in both state and federal court. Emily primarily handled business disputes and employment matters. She has a wide variety of experience in many facets of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, written discovery, depositions, trial preparation, settlement negotiation, post-judgment proceedings, and appellate practice.
After relocating to Raleigh, Emily was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2020. She is also admitted to practice in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Education

Emily attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her degree in News-Editorial Journalism with a minor in English. In 2014, she graduated cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While in law school, Emily earned a Certificate in Trial Advocacy, a CALI Award in Pre-trial Litigation, and the Public Interest Recognition Award. She was also a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society.
